We hire roughly one in ten applicants. If you can teach as well as you know your subject, we would like to hear from you.
Hudson Academy hires IB, IGCSE and A-Level tutors for our Causeway Bay and Kowloon centres and for online tutoring. Most of our tutors work with us for years, and we would rather hire slowly than fill a slot.
Positions we recruit for
- IB and IGCSE Maths tutors — AA and AI, SL and HL, plus IGCSE Extended.
- Science tutors — Physics, Chemistry and Biology at IB, IGCSE and A-Level.
- English tutors — IB Language and Literature, IGCSE First and Second Language, SSAT and ISEB.
- Chinese tutors 中文導師 — IGCSE first and second language, IB Chinese A and B, Mandarin.
- Economics and Humanities tutors.
- Admissions consultants with UK or US application experience.
Both centre-based and online tutoring positions are available, part-time and full-time.
What we look for
- A degree from a leading university in the subject you would teach; graduate degrees welcome.
- Ideally two or more years of teaching or tutoring, though we will consider outstanding candidates with less.
- Familiarity with the IB, Cambridge or Edexcel specification you would teach — or the willingness to learn it properly before your first lesson.
- The ability to explain something a second and third way when the first way did not land. This is what we actually screen for.

Frequently asked questions
Do you offer online tutoring jobs?
Yes. A significant share of our lessons are taught online, and we hire tutors who teach exclusively online, including tutors based outside Hong Kong for suitable time zones.
What are the working hours?
Most tutoring is weekday evenings and weekends, which is when students are free. Holiday intensive courses run during the day.
Do I need Hong Kong teaching experience?
No, but you do need to know the specification you would teach. Experience with IB or Cambridge/Edexcel elsewhere transfers well.
